Appilcations...

Its that time when Nick has to fill out applications for a RN program. Luckily he is only applying to two schools. But applications are just so annoying to fill out. All his application stuff has to be turned in the first week of March. Well on top of his applications I have to do my graduation application for USU. I have to have our taxes and FASFA filled out by March so I can get a grant and graduate this summer. Plus we have our normal school work and jobs to deal with. Needless to say we are busy and stressed. Don't worry I am not blogging when I could be doing something productive. I am at work so I am bored so I am complaining....
Wish us luck on the application and paper work process.

Karson

A few years ago my cousin Karson was born. His parents noticed that he wasn't developing like their older daughter did. They took him to the doctor to find out that he had Spinal Muscular Atrophy also known as SMA. That basically means Karson has no muscles. He couldn't lift up his head, he couldn't even breath on his own. The doctors told his parents he will be lucky if he lived to be one. Along with SMA other complications come along. Before Karson was one he had multiple surgerys. His parents had to buy a bigger car so they could fit all his medical stuff in it. He was in and out of the hospital. Karson coudn't come to any family functions because of all the germs and people around. Well Karson was a fighter. Not only did he live to be one but he lived to be two. The Make A Wish Foundation contacted his parents they wanted to take him to Disneyland because Karson loves Woody from Toys Story. But Karson couldn't go to Disneyland because of all the germs and such. So instead they got Karson a queen size bed. This way he could fit all the machines and junk plus his parents and older sister could lay with him and cuddle. Today Karson passed away. We are sad because he will be missed but we are happy because he is with his father in heaven and he is no longer in pain he doens't have to deal with any more surgerys or being hooked up on machines. I am so happy that families can be together forever because I love my family.

Christmas in Hawaii

Nicks sister April along with her husband Jake and her daughter Rylee moved to Lanai Hawaii in like September. So for Christmas we all decided we would go visit her. Nick and I flew to Maui and spent a few days there by ourselves. We hung out by the beach. We walked around the cute little shops. We went to Hard Rock (one of my favorite places to eat) and we tried nachos with pulled pork and fresh pineapple. It was so yummy and so much fun. Nicks mom and brother flew out to Maui and we drove around and saw more sites. We even fell upon a nude beach. Then we took the ferry to Lanai to see April and her family a few days before Christmas.

Lanai is a very small island and a very small town. The higher up on the island we went the more like Utah it looked. It was more rainy up there but very beautiful. The lower in elevation we went the more it looked like Hawaii and the hotter it was. It never rained at the beach even when it was raining at Aprils. In Lanai we went shooting, we drove around on ATVs, and of course we went to the beach. It was so much fun.  One thing I will never forget in Lanai was the ride to The Garden of the Gods. It was very rainy that day and the road is a red dirt road. And to get the garden you have to take Mule ATVs. It was hilarious. We had to take two mules. April and Jake led the way in their mule with the rest of us in the other one. We went through massive puddles. Jake and April had fun splashing us with mud. Rylee was screaming at her mother saying, "You are going to break your back!!" "You are going way too fast." She was also yelling at Nick, "Slow down" "Watch out for that puddle." We were all laughing so hard at Rylee. We all got so muddy and wet. Then when we got to The Garden of the Gods... and well it was just how Rylee described it, "Its just dirt and rocks." But it was still worth it because it was so much fun! I will never forget that day.
