Graduation!

Well... Nick graduated with his Bachelors on Friday. Even though he isn't done with his education yet I am still super excited. And it is still an accomplishment. Now he {and I} get a break for a couple of years before his Masters.

He has been working full time and going to school full time. There has been long nights and sleepless nights. A lot of headaches and frustrations. But he did it!! And I couldn't be prouder. I think I was more excited for him to graduate then I was when I graduated.

Conference Weekend

Do you not just love conference? I love conference. I love that I can wake up just a few minutes before conference starts and I don't have to worry about being "late". I don't have to worry about getting ready. I don't have to worry about finding a seat. I can just wear my pj's and lay on the couch. Not only is it nice to be able to just lay here and listen but I get to listen to the Prophet and the apostles.

I can't remember who it was, but I loved the talk about marriage during the Sunday morning session. I also loved what Holland said, "Imperfect people are all God has ever had to work with. That must be terribly frustrating to him. But he deals with it... so should we". I loved President Monsons story about him basically starting a forest fire! ha.

What I really loved about conference this time around was I got to babysit Jill and Jeremy's younger kids while they took their older children to a session of conference. We live RIGHT next to a trax station. Will likes trains (what little boy doesn't) but Calvin is totally OBSESSED with trains!! I think obsessed is an understatement. We just opened up our sliding door and Calvin and Will watched the trax go by almost the whole day. haha. Every time it would go by Calvin would yell, "Train!" So I decided to take Cal for a ride. He was so excited. While waiting for the trax to come he was talking nonstop about trains and trax. Every time he heard a noise he would whisper, " I think I hear it." When we got on the trax... oh my gosh he was in heaven. Staring out the window... bouncing on his seat....etc. We just rode to the next stop, got off and rode back home. But he was loving every minute of it.

When Jill and Jer came and picked him up he was telling them all about it. Jill sent me a text the other day and it said, "Calvin: 'Natalie is my aunt. So is Stacie and Kiersten. And the girl I ride trains with'". haha he always forgets my name. He remembers Nicks and every ones but mine. Oh well. At least he remembers the trains. ha. I am glad Calvin had fun on the trax... so did I. I love spending time with my cute nephews and nieces. I am pretty sure I have the sweetest in the whole wide world.

week of family and food

Last week was pretty awesome. We spent a lot of time with family and a lot of time eating. What could be better than that?

Tuesday: Natalie and Steve were in town for Spring Break. So Tuesday night they came over and we went to dinner. Nick had to work so it was just us. We missed Nicky but it was still fun. We ate at Lucky 13 Bar. It was pretty dang good. Their onion rings are very yummy. It was nice to hangout with Steve and Natalie and catch up.

Thursday: My parents came up. My dad has always taken good care of me and my eyes. I don't know how many pairs of glasses he has bought me or contacts etc. So Thursday I took care of him. Because I work at an Eye Office I was able to get my dad new glasses for $30.00 when they are usually like $400. Best daughter award goes to.... Kellie! So we ordered him glasses and then met Nick and went to lunch. It was nice to have one and one time with my parents.

After work on Thursday I met up with Nick and his family at Buca Di Beppo {a yummy Italian restaurant in SLC}. It was great to see April and the kids. Ridge and Rylee are both getting so big. Its crazy. We ordered way too much food. We are still eating our left overs. It was a lot of fun hanging out with everyone.

Friday: We went to Bountiful and colored eggs with Nicks family and just hung out for a few hours and said our good byes to April and the kids.

Saturday: Nick and Alex went to the Mariners game! Nick was so excited that the Mariners came to Utah. I am so glad he was able to go to the game. Him and Alex got their first sunburn of the season. While they were at the game I went shopping with Nicks mom. We went to City Creek. It was super busy but still fun. I got a few shirts and new shoes. I love getting new clothes. I especially love getting new shoes. I have so many shoes but I wear the same 5 pairs. I need to give some away. After our fun day we had dinner at Nicks families house and just watched T.V.

Sunday: Nick had to work at night but that didn't stop our fun. Before church Nick and I went on a hunt to find our Easter baskets. After church we had lunch with Nicks family. I love holidays. Its always an excuse to hangout with family and eat... a lot. Then we went home and Nick went off to work. And the week of family and food ended.

We are so lucky we have such an amazing family.
