San Francisco

Nicks cousins (Brady and Jannae) live in California and they have been wanting us to visit so we went on a road trip to the bay area. It was so much fun!! We got to Nicks cousins Monday night. Tuesday we just hung out. We played with Linken, Brady and Jannaes adorable little boy.

Wednesday we went to San Francisco. We went to Alcatraz which was freakin sweet. We did all the tourist things like Lombard Street, Pier 39 etc. While we were at Alcatraz it was raining and really cloudy. It really set the mood there. By the time we got back to San Fran. my sock were soaking wet I had to buy a new pair ha. Of course we ate at Hard Rock. * Side note* I love the Hard Rock Cafe. Because I love it so much I made a goal about a year ago to go to as many as I possibly can. I know there is no way I can go to all of them since they are all over the world. I have been to 7 of them and 5 of those have been the past year.*End side note* We also went to a Giants game.

Thursday we did more hanging out. We played games and just relaxed.  On Friday Us, Brady and Jannae and their family all went to Santa Cruz. It was pretty cool. I loved the atmosphere. Saturday Nick and I went out and met up with a dear friend of mine, Juan. Juan and I met while at Snow College. Me, Ashley and Juan were best friends and did everything together. We have kept in touch but I haven't seen him since like 2007. I was so excited to see him!! We went back to San Francisco on Saturday. We went back to China Town to walk around since on Wednesday we were too tired and just drove it. We also went back to the Golden Gate Bridge. It was sunny all day until on our way to the bridge. It started to rain really hard. We don't have a water proof camera so we had to hurry and take quick pictures. Sad to say Nick and I didn't get a picture together by the bridge. Oh well it was still WAY fun.

Sunday we headed back to Utah. What was supposed to be a 12 hour drive turned out to be a 16 hour drive. Our GPS decided to take a different route home. Which was fine. We saw a lot of cool stuff. But right as we were about to cross into Nevada the road we needed to take was closed until the next day. We had to turn around and drive back to Sacramento. It was a long drive!!

It was so much fun to have a vacation. Nick and I really needed one. I can't wait for our next trip to California.

I took this... I'm awesome

An Ode To Ashley

Let me tell you about one of my bestest friends ever.... Ashley. Ashley and I met in middle school. We had mutual friends so we became friends. Our senior year of High School we became really close. We went to Snow together and our first semester we had every class together ( we didn't plan it-- it just happened). We were always together and we were always laughing. We almost had our own language (she might be the only one that truly understands the title of this post). We had our names for people-- Purple Lip Boy, Thumb Boy, Volcano Worshiper Boy, and the list could go on. Ashley became apart of my family. She wasn't just my friend she was my families friend. A year and a half ago Ashley went on a mission to Texas. Oh my gosh I cried and cried at her farewell and the day we had to say bye. Nick and I almost waited for her to get back from her mission before we got married. We have a picture of her on our fridge haha. Ashley got home about a week ago. YAY! I am so excited that she is finally back. I am already making plans for us to Nerd Nick, going to the Zoo, maybe some concerts. She informed me that now that she is home I can get pregnant (thats not going to happen). I am so lucky that I have the friends that I do. Welcome Home Ashley!!!

Hello Goodbye

Nick and I are no longer living in Ephraim. We have enjoyed our time there. We liked being so close to family and we loved our small apartment. We will miss it but it is time to move on. Me moved on to bigger and better things... Mona. Long story short we get to live there for free. Its not too far from Provo/Orem area either. So far we are loving Mona. There isn't one gas station but there is one burger place. Its been hard living so far from a Maverick. But we are both so grateful for this house we are now living in. And we are ready for whatever Mona has to offer. (:

Graduations.

Last Friday Nicks program had a small graduation. His graduation was in Richfield and he didn't invite anyone but me. It was a fun day. On our way to Richfield we decided to take a detour. We drove around a small town that I can't remember the name of now. It was a pretty drive with lots of lavenders on the side of the road. Since Nick wouldn't let anyone come I had to sit by myself at the graduation. That made it slightly boring. After we went out to eat it was nice going out with Nick. And I am so proud of him!

After the graduation
The next day Kiersten graduated from Snow. Nick was punk and didn't want to walk with her ( I don't blame him). We are so proud of Kiersten! The speakers all did a really good job. I am so impressed by Snow College. The President of Snow said that Obama is giving one million dollars to a community college that is the best of the best. Well Snow is one of four schools up for this award. After the graduation we all went to Roys aka Fat Jacks to eat. Then we went bowling. I just watched because I am totally against bowling. It was a fun day with most of my family.

Then Wednesday (May 4) not only did I graduate from Utah State with my Bachelors but so did my mom. Our graduation was held at Nephi Jr. High. There were only 20 something of us walking. It was a pretty small group. But Nicks parents came along with his grandparents. Almost my whole family including nieces and nephews were there. Andy and Jenny couldn't make it but we won't hold it against them. My grandpa and grandma Heslop also came. My nephews and niece were all so cute as me and my mom walked. I could hear them screaming "Go grandma and Kellie." Ashton had his hands in the air cheering for us. They made my day. It was pretty exciting because both me and my mom graduated with honors and we didn't know until we got there. The graduation was short but sweet. Just the way I wanted it since my mom and Nick made me walk. After we got Aggie Ice cream... yummy. We also went out to dinner. Poor waitress. It was a fun night with my family. I am so proud of my mom. She worked very hard and survived. It will be nice to have a mom back. Me and my mom still have our Sr. projects to do in the summer but other than that we are done. YAY!

I love this pic.

I also love this one... I love you mommy
