Birthday for Nicholas

Sunday September 9 was Nicks birthday. I was lucky and had the day off, however Nick did not. But we still had a chance to celebrate before he went to work. Nick got to watch the Seahawks before he went to work. Sadly they lost but he was still happy he got to watch the game. We also watched a movie and ate yummy food. Baseball cupcakes, philly cheese steak sandwiches, and Peanut butter Oreos dipped in chocolate. I think I was more excited for his birthday then he was.

Answered Prayers

Well, its no surprise that I am not in love with my job. On and off for the past 6 or so months I have been looking for a new job. But nothing has ever fell into place. I prayed then fasted then prayed some more and still nothing. I felt so annoyed, disappointed, and didn't understand why I had such bad luck.

Nick needs to get experience in a critical care unit in order to get into a masters program, so he just started looking for a new job a few weeks ago. We prayed and fasted. He got an interview for a job in the PCU at St. Marks Hospital. There were a lot of applicants that all had more experience then he did. He came home from the interview disappointed because he thought there was no way he got it. A few days later he got a call telling him he got the job!

We are so excited. 1. Nick needs this job in order to get into a masters program. 2. We will be moving to the SLC area and get out of Utah county. 3. This means I am going to quit my job.We won't be moving until like late November early December so I have that long to find a new job... if I don't then I don't care. I am quiting my job anyway. It's not worth the drive once we move.

So maybe it wasn't on my time but my prayers were answered. Nick gets a great opportunity and I get out of a job that I don't love. I cannot even express how happy I am about this. Yeah, I am stressed about finding a new place to live that I love as much as where we live now. And yes, I am stressed about finding a new job. And of course I am a little stressed because this is going to be a pretty big change for me and Nicky. I am also sad because I have friends here in Provo. I also have family here in Provo. We are going to miss them. But this is something that we need and its going to be so worth it in the end.

Long story short.... Prayers get answered and Nick and I are moving!

Celebrating

Like most people Nick and I love to celebrate. Of course we celebrate birthdays and major life events, however probably our favorite thing to celebrate is the small little things.

We have a pretty weird work schedule. Nick works 5 days then has 5 days off 2 days on then 2 days off. He works from 6pm to 6 am. Then there is me that works Saturday - Tuesday... sometimes Wednesdays. I work from 2pm -11pm. So one of the things we love to celebrate is when our work week is over. Nick will come home at 6am and pick me up and we will go to breakfast. Because of the time of day its usually at McDonalds or Denny's but regardless this is something I have grown to love. We don't do it every week but we do it a lot. It gives us something to look forward to. Because of our schedules sometimes it is hard to find a "date night" especially with school starting up again. So I love celebrating ending the work week with a trip to McDonalds. Is it healthy? No. But do I care? Not at all.

Because school just started we also just started a new celebrations. Like... celebrating that Nick finished a huge paper... lets go eat. I love celebrating with Nick. Especially the little things. And I can't wait for more little things to celebrate.

Bear Lake

A few weeks ago Nick and I went to Bear Lake with Nicks mom and brother, Alex. I hadn't been to Bear Lake since I was a little girl. So I was pretty excited. We went up there for just a couple of days but it was a lot of fun and just what the doctor ordered.

Of course we ate a lot of food, played games, and explored. But the best part was probably jet skiing. I had never gone jet skiing before so it was a new experience for me. Nick was going way too fast. I was flying off the back so I left him and went with his mom instead. It was so pretty and relaxing. Nick and I were still red from San Diego but don't worry we still got sun burned. We were all pretty beat from jet skiing so we went back to the condo and did what we do best ate and napped.

Our hair is scary from all the wind.

The Beach? If you can call it that. ha
