Enough was enough. I finally got my MRI. I was so scared about getting a MRI. I heard so many scary things. But it wasn't that bad. It lasted maybe 45 minutes. The hardest part was staying still. I didn't mind the noise or being in the small space. About a week after I got the MRI the doctor called and told me I need surgery.
He told me there are two masses growing in my wrist. Unfortunately because of their locations they can't get both at once. But they would be getting rid of the one that they believe is causing all these problems. So I set up a day for surgery. It was hard trying to find a good day. He only does surgeries on Thursdays, Nick works most Thursdays. So we scheduled the the surgery Thursday the 7th. Nick still worked that day but we scheduled it as early as possible so he could still be at the hospital.
Well... Thursday the 7th came. I really wasn't scared, which is weird. I thought I would be so nervous. The nurse came in gave me the IV. And nope still wasn't nervous. They started to roll me away to the operating room and I wasn't nervous. The last thing I remember was them putting the mask/ oxygen thing on my face.
The next thing I remember I woke up coughing in the recovery room. I had a huge wrap cast thing on my arm. Nick came in. He was just what I wanted to see. The doctor came in and told me: they had to like move my tendons around to get to the "mass". Then they cut it out and had to "scrape" it away ( so gross). Then they had to cauterize the tendon that was leaking that was causing all these things to grow in my wrist. Then my mom and Kiersten came in. After a couple hours hanging out at the hospital they let me go home.
We got home and Nick went to work. My mom and dad and Kiersten babysat me. I wasn't allowed to be home alone for 24 hours. It was probably I good thing. I was so dizzy. I almost fell down a few times. I couldn't sleep very well the first night. The cast thing kept getting in my way. But I pretty much spent the next few days sleeping away in bed. It was amazing.
But we have the best family ever! The first night my parents got us dinner, some groceries, and my pain meds. The next morning my dad made us breakfast. Nicks mom brought us dinner one night and so did Andy and Jenny. Did I mention how awesome Nick has been? Helping me wrap up my cast thing to shower. Opening bottles, DVD's, drinks etc. Doing everything for me I can't do with one hand. Like seriously how blessed am I?
Well thats the story... boring... but thats my life. Now pictures anyone?
