this week...so far

Nick and I are moving out of our apartment on Saturday. We have to be completely out before May 1st. We are moving in with Nicks mom for our last few months here. Our contract is up and it will be nice to save money. With our work schedules this is literally the only time we can move. Its still not the best time to move with me working on Saturday. But we have to do it. We are planning on this being a test run for the big move in August. So we are renting a truck to see what size we are going to need when we go to Charleston. We wanted to move all the other things we will not be taking with us but just storing before Saturday (snowboard, a big soft chair etc.) Well we got all of it moved except this chair.... and thats where this story begins....

Monday:
Nick and I woke up and ran 100 errands. We measured this chair to see if it would fit in this small suv that we borrowed just to move this chair. Nick figure if we could remove the legs it should fit. Well they were screwed in there deep. And all of Nicks tools were at his moms from repairs he has been doing there. We had to go to Home Depot anyway so we just bought a 80 cent screw driver while we were there. When we got home we remeasured everything and with the legs taken off it would be cutting it pretty close. But we thought might as well try. So Nick starts taking off the legs... and well they won't come off. They were not only screwed in there but they were glued. They were stuck. Now on Saturday we are going to have to do an extra trip in the moving truck just for this one chair. Before I left for work I put laundry in and left. I get home and Nick had put the clothes in the dryer. I was putting the laundry away when I noticed grease stains on 4 of my shirts and a pair of Nicks shorts. I mentioned it to Nick and he said he found chapstick in the wash. Luckily 2 of the shirts are undershirts and I should still be able to wear them. But my two other shirts are done for. And they just so happen to be 2 of my favorites and one of them I got in January with Christmas money. So I haven't even had it that long. Needless to say I am not very happy. Nicks shorts are also done for and they are one of his favorite pairs too. Yeah we are not happy campers. Then Nick tells me the computer wont charge and it has been hot and it randomly shuts off. So after googling we think we found the problem. The battery status said normal and it was working great.YAY! By the end of the night we were beat.

Tuesday:
I get home from work and start packing away. I had to get dishes and junk that I can't reach. So I climbed on the counter. I do this all the time (short girl problems). I don't know what happened but I started to fall so I hurried and grabbed onto something. Well I grabbed onto the microwave door... so that just flew open with me holding on for dear life. I am not sure how I didn't fall. But once I got off I noticed I hurt my back. I kept packing even though my back was killing me. As I was walking putting something away I collapsed because my back started to lock up and spasm. Nick gets home we have dinner and went and started to work on stuff on the computer. Well it randomly shut off again. And wouldn't charge. We did the same steps before to fix it at least temporarily. Yeah it didn't seem to work. So we just shut it off and planned on working on it tomorrow.

Wednesday:
Wake up back still hurts.Turn on the computer and it still wont charge. I hurried and backuped our pictures on our external hard drive. I checked the battery status it said, "Replace battery soon" with a caution sign. Great. Is it even worth replacing? We were planning on buying a new computer for Nick for school. But it was just going to be a school computer. What about me?! I need something to use! Also its just nice to have a back up computer for times like these ha. We are planning on taking the computer in to the Apple store for their advice on Thursday.

Well its only Wednesday lets see what else this week has in store for us. Our to do list seems to be growing instead of getting smaller. I'm just praying we survive this week and this move.

Easter

I love Easter weekend. I especially love it when it falls on conference weekend.

The Saturday before Easter we headed to my Grandpa Heslops. Almost my whole family was there.... it was crazy and full of fun. We all watched conference together. In between the two sessions Nick , Me, and Levi went to the Burger Bar. I love that place!

I enjoyed being able to hangout and relax with my family and also being able to listen to our church leaders. You would have thought we were watching an intense movie or something during the afternoon session. When a few individuals didn't sustain the prophet we all looked at each other confused and said to each other, "Did you hear that? Did they say no?" Then when President Uchtdorf told them to meet with their Stake Presidents we were all at the edge of our seats. I must admit at first I was so mad. But soon that anger turned to sadness. I felt bad for President Monson. But I also felt bad for those who didn't sustain him.

After both sessions we did a small egg hunt. The kids already did the city Easter egg hunt but we did another one for kicks and giggles. Soon after that the boys all got ready and went to the Priesthood session and went to dinner. While us girls and children went to visit my Grandma Cragun. I just adore her. She knew I was coming so she went out and bought one of my favorite drinks... Simply Orange. She was so upset when she thought she accidently got the kind with pulp since she knows I don't like that kind. My grandma is so thoughtful and sweet. We got to catch up with her and enjoy some dinner. Eventually Nick and I called it night and headed home.

Easter morning we woke up found our Easter baskets and watched conference. Don't you love waking up and going to church in your pajamas? I love it. The Easter bunny brought me jelly beans, mini cadbury eggs, my favorite chips, propel, and chapstick. The Easter bunny brought Nick trail mix, clif bars, other power bars, and propel. He must have known about all the hikes Nick has planned for this summer. After conference we headed to Nicks moms. Our niece and nephews were over so we got to hangout and play with them. We made an Easter craft out of Twinkies, Peeps and a few other things. Then we went to Nicks aunts for dinner. We didn't have the traditional Easter dinner with ham and what not but it was still good. But we did have homemade carrot cake for dessert.

This Easter was like no other. I can't explain it. The whole day I felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for our Savior. I don't know if you were able to watch the churchs video, "Because of Him". Well I watched it... over and over. I thought about all the things I have been blessed with. And I am in awe. Its all because of him and his love and sacrifice. Because of him families are forever. I get to see my grandparents again. And I get to be with Nick forever! When talking/ learning about the atonement I always focused on the fact we can live again. But recently I have had a different perspective. I have been thinking more about the fact that because of him I am not alone. Elder Wirthlin said, "Because Jesus Christ suffered greatly, He understands our suffering. He understands our grief...The Lord Jesus Christ is our partner, helper, and advocate." When I am struggling, unsure, overwhelmed, frustrated, or sad he knows what I am going through. He has felt all that and so much more. He is there to help me when I fall short, when I feel like I just can't do it. And that brings me so much peace and comfort.

Levis Visit

A couple of weeks ago Levi came up to visit us. Friday I came home from work with Levi and Nick waiting for me. We headed to the Grizzlies Hockey game. Levi has never been to a hockey game... and we hadn't been in a long time so it was fun getting out and watching the game. After the game we went to The Lucky 13 Bar. Oh my gosh they have such good burgers. We came home and watched Mighty Ducks... of course.

Saturday morning we woke up and had Kneaders for breakfast. It was so good! Then I went off and got my hair cut while Nick and Levi just relaxed. When I got home we went on a hike. We thought it was going to be 2 hour hike... nope 5 hours! It probably took us 30 minutes just to hike to the trail head. There were times I wanted to give up and head back especially when we got to the snow. But I'm glad I didn't. I was telling Nick on our way back down how grateful I am I got to spend time with two of my favorite people. In less than 5 months I will not be able to just go out and hike with Levi whenever we want. It was nice being able to just talk and hangout and enjoy the sun for 5 hours. After the hike we went to Spitz for dinner. We love that place. If you ever go get the Street Cart Fries. They are my favorite thing to get there. By the time we got back we were all exhausted. We fell on the couch and fell asleep pretty fast.
